How LiLash Can Help Stop Your Eyelashes From Falling Out

4:23 pm August 31, 2009

It is normal for your eyelashes to fall out from time to time. Your eyelashes like the rest of the hair on your body go through cell cycles of growth, death, and inactivity.

However, if your eyelashes are falling off in great numbers, there may be a medical issue that needs to be fixed. Lash loss can be caused by infections, hormonal imbalances, and irritation.

If your eyelashes are falling out from vigorous rubbing, try to use a makeup remover that works without rubbing. You should also switch to non waterproof mascaras which are easier to remove. If you use an eyelash curler, try not to curl to close to your lash line since this can tug on your lashes. An occasional pull won’t do much harm, but curling your eyelashes everyday can cause them to fall out.

Blepharitis can be caused by mites, viral, and bacterial infections. Not only is this dangerous for your eyesight, but the hair follicles may be damaged and your eyelashes may grow back at odd angles.

Endocrine disorders can change the balance of hormones in your body. Since hormones are the master signals that change growth, your eyelashes may be growing back thinner, more brittle, and less healthy. The rest of your hair, not just your eyelashes may become dull, brittle, coarse and start falling off in large clumps.

If you’re losing hair all over your body, you may have an autoimmune disorder. Madarosis can occur with alopecia as your body turns on itself and starts attacking its own cells.

Not to fear though, as long as the hair follicles are not damaged, you can stimulate and regrow your eyelashes. Try using eyelash stimulators and growth products. These products help your lashes regrow naturally to their maximum potential.

Eyelash accelerators such as LiLash can make your eyelashes look healthier and longer. With LiLash, you’ll start getting results and noticing longer lashes in just 2 weeks.

LiLash also conditions and coats lashes to make them stronger and less brittle. If you wear eyelash extensions or fake lashes, LiLash can protect your lashes so they break less and look shinier and healthier.

Male Baldness- What Are The Most Effective Treatment Options?

2:55 pm

Male Baldness seems to have a variety of treatments, from simple hair loss products to surgical interventions. When facing such problems, people will to try anything, without paying attention to the consequences of using inappropriate solutions. Male baldness cure are directly related to hair loss causes; thus, an effective treatment can be prescribed only by specialized doctors.

Your doctor may recommend a long term medical treatment, which must be followed for at least 3 months. It is also useful to treat the hair loss causes (seborrhea, eczema, dandruff) with antifungal, antiseborrheic, revulsive shampoos or lotions. There are a number of dermatological shampoos, especially developed for hair loss treatment.

What really matters is to use special hair loss products constantly, in order to prevent further problems, such as massive hair loss. People can’t do anything about the genetic triggers that are responsible for baldness; they can only avoid the other harmful factors for their health.

It is essential to consult a doctor if you notice massive hair loss, especially if you are stressed. The stress amplifies even more the baldness process. Don’t start using hair loss products and various vitamins without being aware of your disease. These supplements really help in the restoration of metabolic and hormonal balances in the body. However, they don’t stop baldness.

There are many causes for which men lose their hair. In 95% of the cases, baldness is determined by the genetically pattern. Only in the United States, 35 million men loose their hair every year.

It was proved that one of the reasons why men lose their hair more in comparison to women, is due to hormones. Other authorized sources claim that 3 of 5 men are affected by typical male baldness, before reaching the age of 50.

One of the most important male hormones is the testosterone, which causes baldness in individuals who are genetically susceptible. You can find out what your degree of developing baldness is, by taking a closer look to the men from your family. In the presence of male pattern baldness, the risks are increased.

Male pattern baldness is not the same as inherited baldness, as many people think. The same people consider that poor blood circulation, blocked pores and deficiency of vitamins are responsible for male hair loss.

Each type of hair loss can be treated through various methods. A great way to find out more about the available hair loss treatment is the Internet. On the other hand, the online market offers numerous so-called “miraculous baldness cure”, which can lead to undesired results. Most of these supplements promise a more rich, stronger and regenerated hair.

Men must be aware that the most efficient hair loss products are those recommended by experts. Another important fact is that the healing process will be stopped once they interrupt the treatment.

Other available hair loss treatments consist in surgical interventions. The most common procedures are the flap and hair transplant. Hair transplant has been recognized as the only long term solution in baldness, involving minimum trauma. The interventions results in natural hair growth.

Hair cloning is still an avenue being explored by scientists. For Male Patern Baldness It is when hair loss appears to be above average when action needs to be taken to stem the loss of hair back to normal. Balding affects approximately 40m in the United States alone and hundreds of millions internationally.

Male Hair Loss

1:13 pm August 26, 2009
by Anju Mathur, MD

Andropause is sometimes called the male equivalent of female menopause. There are differences in symptoms, but both start around the age of 40-50, and both are a result of endocrine glands, which no longer produce the same amount of hormones that they did at a younger age. In men, one of the symptoms of the dwindling supply of hormones is hair loss – baldness.

Androgen means any hormone that is responsible in some way for male characteristics. Testosterone is the most well-known such hormone, there are others. So the word andropause means a slowing down or pause of androgens. In women the reproductive organs actually stop functioning, and although that does not happen in men, both sexes experience a reduction of hormones.

Can anything be done about these symptoms of age? Lessening of muscle mass and strength, loss of sex drive, less restful sleep, anxiety, sluggishness, and a pot belly can also be symptoms of andropause in addition to hair loss. Are these symptoms unavoidable? In this article we will discuss what can be done.

As women can benefit from hormone replacement therapy, so, too, can men. The important steps to take in order for hormone replacement therapy to succeed are making sure the replacements are bioidentical and replacing all of the dwindling hormones, not just testosterone.

Many substitute hormones being sold are not exactly the same as the ones the body produces. Bioidentical means that the hormones match the ones produced by the body. This is important as obviously the body will recognize and use an identical hormone and not use a substitute that differs.

The amount of hormones lost may not be the same in every person – different ages and physiques and diets affect hormone loss. To determine the exact amount of which hormones to replace, one needs medical testing.

Once testing is done, and the facts are known, exact amounts of needed hormones can be given to a level that will compare to the levels of hormones in the body when one was young. Symptoms like lack of energy and interest in life, low libido, insomnia and loss of hair can slow down or halt or even reverse. Indeed, it seems like one regains youth.

There are no side effects to this natural procedure that slows the aging process. Many thousands of people have experienced new life and vigor from hormone replacement therapy. There’s no reason to age quickly – slow it down! Enjoy youth.

Hair Grease: How to Get Rid of it and Best Shampoo for Greasy Hair

1:55 pm August 25, 2009
by Jennifer Summers

Greasy hair can appear stringy and fail to keep its lightness and volume within a few hours of shampooing. Greasy hair can seem lifeless, dull oily and lank. It can also appear heavy and flat, refusing to stay clean and fresh. Is this describing your hair? Ever ask yourself “why is my hair greasy?” Others may judge people with greasy hair as having poor hygiene and that they do not wash their hair very often, even if the sufferer washes it every day.

Grease found in greasy hair is natural body oil called sebum. Sebum is produced by the sebaceous gland. Each hair has a sebaceous gland immediately under the skin. Greasy hair is healthy hair as the oil (sebum) is produced to stop each hair strand from drying and to stop the ends splitting. Sebum is produced by the body to lubricate hair and skin and prevents drying by providing a protective barrier. Sebum is your own built-in moisturizer for the body.

Greasy hair is actually an excess of sebum in hair which is a result of overactive sebaceous glands over-producing sebum, stimulated by hormones known as androgens. Although they are present in both men and women, androgens are male hormones and are higher in men. Androgens do two things: One, they increase the size of sebaceous glands in the skin. Two, they cause the sebaceous glands to increase the production of oil.

Fluctuating hormones can cause greasy as hormones play a part in sebum production. Greasy hair is most common in women because of either pregnancy or monthly cycle, older women going through the menopause, and teenagers experiencing puberty. Stress can be a contributory factor in greasy hair as it is known to affect hormones levels. People with fine hair on their head may experience excessive greasy hair as they have more hair follicles and more sebaceous glands producing more sebum.

There are many external causes of greasy hair. Over washing your hair can cause increase sebum production as frequent washing can strip the hair and scalp of all oils causing the sebaceous glands to excrete more to combat this. A build-up of grease can occur due to washing your hair too often. Scrubbing your hair and scalp vigorously while washing you hair can stimulate hair grease. Touching your hair can also increase the glands to over-stimulate, as can vigorous brushing which can carry the oil throughout your hair. Environmental factors such as everyday pollutants can cause hair to look greasy, as can the over use of hair styling products as the products build-up at the roots.

There can also be a number of internal causes of greasy hair. I have already mentioned fluctuating hormone levels; however one of the leading causes when it comes to causes of greasy hair is your diet. Diets in the Western world are typically much greasier, higher in fat and sugar, processed and contain additives, the high fat content increasing levels of oil in the skin, potentially causing greasy hair. A diet that is low in vitamin B can also be a cause of greasy hair, along with the hormones often found in the meat of Western diets which can add to unbalanced hormones.

The key of how to avoid, stop, treat and cure greasy hair is approach it from the outside and inside. Starting with the outside: avoid brushing your hair too often, and avoid brushing your hair vigorously. As you wash your hair, massage your hair and scalp lightly instead of scrubbing them vigorously. The beast shampoo for greasy hair is a mild-ph shampoo that is extra cleansing or clarifying. Look for a shampoo that is specially formulated for greasy hair. To protect against dryness moisturizing shampoos can leave oil in your hair, these should be avoided.

When shampooing, leave the shampoo in your hair for approximately 5 minutes for a better clean. Rinse and shampoo again if necessary. It’s up to you as to how often you should wash your hair. Once or twice a week is the ideal but to find your own balance of washing and oil production start with washing once a day, reducing how often you wash as you find that balance. If you are going to condition your hair, use a conditioner designed especially for greasy hair, and apply the conditioner not to the roots but to the mid and ends of your hair. If you use a hair dryer to style your hair, heat will stimulate oil production, so don’t let it get too hot.

On the inside: with your diet, Reduce the number of foods you eat that contain white flour such as pasta, pastries and bread. Increase the amount of green and leafy vegetables in your diet, along with seeds, nuts, whole grains, salads, fresh fish and vegetables. Avoid sugar and foods containing sugar e.g. soft drinks, biscuits and cakes. Reduce the amount of fat in your diet, avoiding fried, greasy and fatty foods. Consider supplementing vitamin B in your diet. Reduce and eliminate as much stress as you can from your day to day life.

How to Care for Grey Hair

12:49 pm August 23, 2009
by Jennifer Summers

At any age grey hair can materialize. It’s not always an indication of aging, it’s caused by a dropping off in pigmentation (grey hair) or a complete lack of pigment (white hair), and the basis for it is not fully known. The most obvious symbol of aging is the changing colour of our hair. As we age our hair produces less melanin, the same melanin that gives our skin its colour. This is the reason our hair turns grey.

Aging also affects our hair in other ways. As we age our hair is prone to becoming drier, and so requires more moisture than ever before. Older hair also loses some of its elasticity and the texture changes. Some women will notice that their hair becomes thinner and lacks life, for others it appears dry and coarse. This happens because as we age, the size of the hair follicles diminish and hair growth slows. As a result there is not so much new growth to replace what we lose.

Sebum (oil produced naturally by our skin) diminishes as our body ages, and so our hair, therefore, loses its natural shine and smoothness. Plus, during the menopause our making of keratin slows. This protein fibre is vital to keeping our hair healthy and strong. For all you guys, there is the subject of going bald, thinning hair and coarse hair, especially the facial hair. Opt for the right type of hair colour to disguise your grey hair, but don’t go more than a couple of shades darker or lighter than your own hair colour. If you use a dark colour it can accentuate a dull complexion.

Lowlights or highlights can conceal any grey you want to disguise by merging them into the rest of your head of hair. The same with hair colourants, stay away from going more than a couple of shades lighter than your own hair colour. That way you will not end up appearing older than you really are. Grey hair can appear yellow or greenish on many people. If you fancy keeping your grey hair, opt for using a hair shampoo and conditioner that is made especially for grey hair. To counteract the yellow colour and leave your hair shiny and good-looking, why not use a greying shampoo that has a violet base colour, instead of your everyday shampoo.

Moisturizing (conditioning) is a requirement for older hair. Use a weekly deep conditioning treatment – suggested for aging hair. This will help to preserve the moisture levels in your hair. As time goes by your hair loses its elasticity and this makes it more difficult to style, so try using a protein treatment at least once a month to assist your hair. For men and women, thinning hair can be given a more voluminous look by using volumizing products such as conditioners and mousses.
